Essay Financial Management Challenges - 1125 Words

Financial Management Challenges David Meszler BUS 650 Managerial Finance Prof. Kevin Kuznia July 29, 2013 To understand the challenges that face a financial manager today it is important to understand the general characteristics of market structures and the impact of market liquidity, competitiveness, and efficiency on financial managers. Clarifying market structures will show the basic constructs that financial managers work under. With the basic understanding of market structures and how they influence financial managers or how financial managers influence their given market structures we will identify two problems that are faced in current markets chosen from two Proquest articles, the first problem discussed will be†¦show more content†¦A monopoly is recognized by one company with no competition with the company setting the price. Our text points out an important effect of markets in that price is set, this is important for financial managers (Byrd, Hickman, amp; McPherson, 2013). Now that we have a basic understanding of market structures we can understand how they influence price and financial managers. The price of a product will be derived from what a buyer is willing to pay for that product keeping in mind a complete cycle for everyone involved allowing for ongoing, continuous buying, selling, and consumption which keeps the economy working. The ease in which an organization can turn assets (those that are bought and sold) into cash is known as liquidity. A financial manager must take into consideration the kind of market structure they are in and with that the price of entering the market, the control of price and possible impact of other organizations involved in the same market. The impact of the other organizations in both price and the quantity of products produced in the same market is known as competition. The ease in which the market structure operates with the correct ratios of supply, demand, and price is the market efficiency. One problem faced by financial managers today is the lapse in the communication process between market, sales, and financial managers according to Dr. Weissbrich and Prof. Krohmer in an article they wrote entitled Managerial-ChallengesShow MoreRelatedChallenges Facing The Organizational Business Economy And Management With Companies From The Financial Services Industry1640 Words   |  7 PagesAs easy as it is to come to the conclusion that any business can have problems with risks, the main problem is the challenge to stay ahead of these risks in the organizational business economy and management with companies in the financial services industry. To What Extent Does the Problem of Urbanization Can Be Met...

To what extent does the problem of urbanization can be met by sustainable development? For the past decades the trend of urbanization has rapidly increased, especially in developing countries. Urbanization may be defined as a process in which people from rural areas are migrating to the city. The sudden increase of the population in cities has brought significant problems to their inhabitants, the environment and resources. These problems are providing housing with basic facilities and public transport, mitigating the effect of pollution which is detrimental to the environment and people, and sustaining its development and resources. Sustainable development is defined in the Brundtland Report in Our Common Future as ‘development†¦show more content†¦The first housing project was done during 1954 through 1964 it was the partial rehousing of squatter settlers from Shek Kip whose place was engulfed by fire; this embarked the establishment of elevated public settlement. Finally, the housing project that they are currently building in New Towns in the New Territories; this project was first launch in 1973. This project will temporarily solve the scarcity in housing for it was only built for the present situation and did not consider the problem on housing that will arise in the future. Consequently, the government has no organized plan in addressing the squatting problem for they only act according to the situations and solved it in short-term basis. For example, they only resettle the homeless when their communities was engulfed by a fire, cleared the areas when it is needed for redevelopment or restricted it when it will be redeveloped for future use and they only rehouse those squatters who are registered or just relocate them to impermanent settlement. In addition, the current housing project they are building has an incorporated p roblem on transportation for it is located outside the city but most of job opportunities are still in the city; the success of this housing project isShow MoreRelatedChinas model7412 Words   |  30 Pagesapplied to do agriculture for faster growth. Parma free essay sample

The locals call it the â€Å"Parma Dome† because of the immense concentration of rain in the small town of Parma. â€Å"You never can trust the weather radar because we live in Parma,† my resident Betty said. Betty was a retired factory worker who lived in Parma her entire life. After standing on cement floors, she had no cartilage left in either knee. My church arrived in Ohio along with 500 teens, all looking forward to a week of service to the Parma Community. I was placed on a crew of teenagers and adults from across the country. Our assignment and challenge: construct a wheelchair ramp in four days. Day one went smoothly, as we plotted where to dig the post holes. Each hole, fourteen in all, dug 42 inches deep, in the hard clay packed soil of Ohio. As the day came to an end my crew leader announced, â€Å"Kids, we are going to pull overtime to get this done. We will write a custom essay sample on Parma or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page † The next morning, after the torrential downpour the night before, we looked in the post holes. There were 14 inches of water in each post hole, and another five inches of thick, gooey mud. It took us half the day to re-dig all the post holes, sucking whatever confidence we had going into Tuesday. With only hours left we hurriedly, yet near expertly, cemented nine of the fourteen post holes. As we prepared to retire for the evening, our resident reminded us, â€Å"This is the Parma Dome, don’t forget.† Hearing this, we quickly covered all the remaining post holes, just in case of another Dome downpour. Only having to nine post holes dug and cemented, we had stacks of wood looking us in the face, with two days left. Thursday went smoothly. With no rain the night before, we cemented the post holes within an hour. Then, we picked away at the huge stack of wood that would put Home Depot to shame. By the end of the day, we had the framing for the ramp completed. Although proud of our accomplishments, with only one day left, our crew knew that we still had great deal of work ahead. Friday, our final day, was the toughest. It had rained nonstop Thursday night and there were no signs of the rain letting up. However, on our way back to Betty’s house, the â€Å"Parma Dome† lifted. Though the rain stopped, the wood was still soaking wet, which caused our saw to seize up on every cut. This continued throughout the morning. By three o’clock in the afternoon, our usual departure time, we had the flooring in place, but we needed railings and spindles. The assignment handed to us early in the week was simply to build this wheelchair ramp. Leaving now, with the job incomplete, was not an option. So we ventured on. We formed an assembly line. Someone cut spindles, another the railings, and I hammered and nailed securing them all in place. By dusk we were exhausted, but the task was complete. Our crew had come together and built a sixty foot wheel chair ramp in four short days, despite the â€Å"Parma Dome.† We did not give up, unlike several groups who left their sites earlier. Betty, and her ability to move about more freely, was far too important to us. We overcame obstacles: heavy rain, damp wood, bad materials, and time. As a crew we practiced problem solving. There are several ways to complete a job, but only a few ways to do it productively. I was teamed with five random strangers and given a challenging task. We came together, fought through the difficulties, and tackled the wheelchair ramp head on. What went unnoticed that week was the mental toughness that I gained, though the trial and tribulation of the ramp. Now no matter what the challenge I know I have the mental and the physical toughness to succeed, all thanks to a group of strangers and a women named Betty.

Thesis Statement For Romeo And Juliet Essay Example For Students

Thesis Statement For Romeo And Juliet Essay Everyday there is something that one must interpret whether it is a book, movie, or even the news. One must come to ones own conclusion about the information they are interpreting. For instance movies are mostly easier to understand then books though the plots may have slight differences. In the 1996 movie The Tragedy Of Romeo and Juliet by Baz Luhrman, there are some major differences between his version and the book Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. One of the major differences is that the book takes place in the seventeen hundreds in Verona, while the movie takes place in the late twentieth century still in Verona. This difference makes the movie to appear of a rather young intellect due to the fact that the movie uses the same language as the book. It seems out of place. We will write a custom essay on Thesis Statement For Romeo And Juliet specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now Another major difference is the role of friar Lawrence. In the book the friar had a part of great importance yet in the movie his importance does diminish some. One more major difference is the Capulets tomb. In the book the tomb was said to be dark and dingy. Though in the movie the tomb appeared to be a beautiful almost church like cathedral the tomb had many candles around where Juliet laid. Also she does not lie in a coffin but in a beautiful bed that is encompassed by white sheets. Perhaps the most important difference between the book and the movie is the final scene. In the book the final scene is when Romeo kills Paris and then enters Capulets tomb. When in the tomb Romeo drinks the poison and dies. However in the movie Romeo does not kill Paris at all. When Romeo arrives at the tomb the police surround him. He takes a priest as a hostage so he wont be shot. When he enters the tomb he walks to Juliet. This is where the most important difference is. Juliet starts to awaken while Romeo recites his speech. They are both alive and looking at each other for a few seconds then Romeo dies. The biggest controversy is if Juliet had even utter ed the faintest noise it may have stopped Romeo from drinking the poison. When a person interprets anothers work the interpreter may loose key values and change the story completely. Therefore the interpreter must be extremely careful. As in the case of The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, by Baz Luhrman.

The Life of Pi Essays

The Life of Pi Essays The Life of Pi Paper The Life of Pi Paper Essay Topic: Life Of Pi The book Life of Pi by Yann Martel is a story about a young Indian boy named Piscine Molitor Patel and his Journey stranded in a lifeboat in the Pacific Ocean with only a tiger, Richard Parker. The Japanese cargo ship carrying his fathers zoo animals, his family, and workers, was traveling from India to Canada, where the Patels hoped to start a new life. Unfortunately, the ship sank from an unknown cause and Pi along with a tiger, orangutan, zebra, and hyena were the only survivors of the wreck. Eventually, Pi and Richard Parker were the last ones remaining. A part in the book hat really stuck out to me was in the beginning of the book where Piscene, known to all as P' (Martel, 22), was in Pondicherry, India with a strong desire to learn about different religions. Although the rest of his family believed they didnt need religion, Pi went his own way and let his curiosity get the best of him. His first religion was Hindu. Later, along with Hinduism, he practiced Christianity. Finally, he added Islam to his list of practicing faiths. I admire his steady devotion for learning about the different religions. Pi would show up as often as he could with a new question urning within him. I want to become more like P, having a strong desire and fascination to learn something new. In my opinion, it is one of the most fascinating quests in life. Practicing three different religions caused a lot of trouble between his family and his different religious leaders, who together all found out he was devout in all three sects. After much arguing between the pastor, imam, and pandit of which church he should Join, saying he must only choose one, Pis mother turned to him and asked what his thoughts were. Pi responded by saying, Bapu Ghandi said, All religions are true. I Just want to love God (Martel, 69). Whether your desire is to love God or something else, it is important to Just have that desire. Without it, what is the purpose of existing? From this, I was reminded that it is important to learn as much as you can and that it is okay to still be confused about life, for that will only help you to understand it more so long as you have a deep desire to understand, Just like Pl. I loved the way Martel opened my eyes showing me a new and positive perspective on such an abstract subject: the beauty of the relationship between life and death. I have never thought of this relationship as one being beautiful, nor have I ever sympathized with death before happening upon this quote. The reason death sticks so closely to life isnt biological necessity†its envy. Life is so beautiful that death has fallen in love with it, a Jealous, possessive love that grabs at whatever it can. But life leaps over oblivion lightly, losing only a thing or two of no importance, and gloom is but the passing shadow of a cloud (Martel, 6). The way he personifies life and death is truly a delightful image to apprehend. I wish I could sit down with he author and discuss this further over some tea. For the topic of life and death being one of the most fascinating and complex ideas known to mankind, he seems to have a lovely view on it. Martel describing life as being beautiful in a personified way enticed me to think about it in a way I havent before. I realized that yes life is indeed very beautiful; its stunning. Life is a sacred gift given to each of us and though we have the agency to spend it as we choose, I prefer to spend it wisely and with gratitude, not wasting a moment dwelling on anything that would not benefit or make ay Journey, Pi was interviewed in the hospital by two men from the Japanese Ministry of Transport who were hoping to find the cause of the sinking cargo ship. Pi told them the story of his Journey. In his story, he noticed the cargo ship was starting to sink in the midst of a terrible storm. He frantically alerted the crewmembers, which only spoke Chinese. They put a life Jacket on him and tossed him into the lifeboat, where a tiger was hiding under the tarpaulin. Soon after, a zebra Jumped in breaking its leg on the landing followed by a hyena. After the ship had sunk, an rangutan appeared floating on a large bundle of bananas. Because the zebra was helpless, the hyena decided to start eating it. This upset the orangutan, but it couldnt put up with a fght against the vicious, starving hyena. Once the hyena was finished eating what it could of the zebra and orangutan, the Bengal tiger also known as Richard Parker, attacked the hyena, which hopelessly surrendered. The Japanese men didnt believe him. They found it impossible that there could have been a tiger on the lifeboat and that an orangutan floated its way to the lifeboat on a bundle of ananas, saying that bananas dont even float. To test the validity of the story, Pi insisted that they fill the nearby sink with water and a bundle of bananas. To their surprise, the bananas floated. Still, they had plenty of doubts. The Japanese men wanted to bring back a story that was more believable. So, Pi told a different story. Instead of a hyena, it was the cook; his mother took place of the orangutan, and the sailor represented the zebra. He paralleled his original story to the second one, in disturbing, graphic detail. Instead of the hyena killing and eating the zebra and rangutan, it was the cook who killed and ate the sailor and his mother; instead of Richard Parker killing the hyena, it was Pi who killed the cook. The two men decided that they liked the first story more. Pi represented himself as Richard Parker. I am still struggling to figure out what the stories mean, especially the one about the Meerkat Island, where Pi and Richard Parker drifted to an island covered in algae and populated with thousands of meerkats. One night, after a few weeks of making themselves feel at home, Pi noticed something strange as he was getting his bed situated in a tree. As it got dark, all of the meerkats ran towards the forest and up the trees. He started to wonder why they were all frantically running away until he saw many dead fish floating to the top of one of the fresh water ponds. Meanwhile, Richard Parker slept in the lifeboat. It turned out that at night, the ground scorched their feet. In the morning, Pi noticed some fruit wrapped in vines and leaves hanging in only one specific tree and Just a small part of it. He climbed up the tree to pick one of the fruit, but as he unraveled the leaves, he found something else: a human tooth. Puzzled, he checked the rest of them. There were a total of thirty-two rotting human teeth. This caused him to suspect that the island was carnivorous and that an unlucky soul must have found the island but made the mistake of staying too long. Pi took this as his sign to leave the island and continue on his way in the Pacific. Though I dont know the meaning of some of these stories, I do have an idea that the Bengal tiger represents Pis animal instinct. With this in mind, I find it interesting that the only time Pi and Richard Parker were separated was when they were on the island. They were rarely seen together and Richard Parker even slept in the boat off the shore of the island while Pi slept high in a tree. But once he left the island, he and have survived. For example, on the Journey he had to apply it by killing and eating fish, which as a vegetarian he had never thought he would do. Life of Pi challenged me to think in ways I normally wouldnt. It took me out of my happy, blessed world, and instead put me in one life-threatening situation after another. Every time an event would happen in the book, I had to stop for a moment and ponder how I would have reacted or what I would have done in Pis position. Its easy for me to say that I would never hurt a living soul such as a fish even if I were under the influence of starvation, but maybe I would be so desperate that I wouldnt have to think twice. I certainly know I wouldnt be able to last as long as P. I think part of what helped him survive was his task of keeping Richard Parker alive. It gave him a sense of purpose and a reason to continue living. Perhaps it is important that I find my Richard Parker so that I may have a purpose to living a satisfying life. Martel, Yann. Life of Pi: A Novel. New York: Harcourt, 2001. Print.

7 Body Language Tricks That Will Improve Your Reputation at Work

7 Body Language Tricks That Will Improve Your Reputation at Work Body language can be surprisingly important. If you’re just starting out, or you’re a new manager, or even if you’ve been a boss for decades, there are a few tricks you should make sure to keep in your arsenal to appear more powerful and assert yourself in your career. 1. Make Eye ContactLook people in the eye whenever you’re being spoken to. It’s both commanding and polite. If it makes you too nervous to look directly in the eyes, try looking at the nose or ears- just make sure your focus is on their face.2. Delay Your SmileInstead of smiling the second you meet someone, take one moment just to look at them and consider them for a second, then- and only then- give them your biggest, warmest smile. Even a delay smaller than one second can give an air of sincerity to your post-assessment.3. Count BlinksIf you count your conversation partner’s blinks, you not only can increase your feelings of warmth and respect for that person by focusing your attention, but you can also ensure that you’re making good eye contact!4. Use Your HandsCharismatic leaders tend to talk with their hands. It makes you look commanding and powerful, so go ahead and incorporate your natural gestures into your speech.5. Pay Attention to PostureMake sure you’re sitting or standing upright and with your head held high. This can actually trick your brain into feeling more positive and powerful. And sends a strong signal.6. Don’t FidgetTry limiting the fidgeting- this includes crossing and re-crossing your legs. Minimizing your movement will often maximize your credibility and make people feel more comfortable in your presence.7. Try the SteepleTry putting your hands in the steeple position, with your fingertips together. This is a strangely powerful gesture that communicates confidence, listening skills, and competence almost effortlessly. Extra points if you lean back while doing it.

Huffman Trucking Controlling User Access - Essay Example In addition, importance of role-based access control (RBAC) system along with measures to handle distributed trust management issues for users going to or from business partner networks will be critically addressed. Segregation of Duties (SoD) is widely used security method in the financial accounting system and internal controlling system. The use of SoD will enable Huffman Trucking to restrict power in one hand by disseminating works or tasks to specific user. The main reason behind implementing the SoD, security system is to prevent conflict, wrongful acts, fraud, abuse and errors. SoD embraces particular security process within multiple employees that will ensure the employees in Huffman Trucking are prevented from engaging in any possible conflicts and frauds. Moreover, SoD facilitates in detecting failure of control that includes breaches in the security, avoidance of security controls and potential data or information theft. (Coleman, 2008). Role is defined as collection of rights, position and duties within an organization. Moreover, it involves authority, responsibility and interaction. The main purpose for defining roles in an organization is to ensure that tasks, which are needed to be performed, are assigned to specific users who are accountable for the same. Generally, the users have to perform basic and functional roles whereas the system access serves as a security method and control the users’ access to various resources in the system. This ensures only the authorized user to access the resources with proper control policy. Correspondingly, data segregation and system access will enable Huffman Trucking to gain substantial control over data access by allowing users to access only those files having privilege to access them and separates duties with proper information sharing and privacy (Kugblenu & Asim, 2007). Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) system is an access control system, which is used in an organization in order to ensure that

Film Analysis - The Pianist - Essay Example However, just before he is about to board, one of the Jewish guards pulls him out of line and inadvertently saves Szpilman’s life. Over the next few years, Szpilman goes from place to place while trying to avoid the German troops. He manages this successfully, although there are a few close calls. In one apartment where he was staying, Szpilman tipped over some plates, creating a loud bang. Immediately a neighbor was banging on the door and asking who was there. Once Szpilman opened the door, the woman asked for identification. We he could produce none, the woman started shouting that he was a Jew and that he needed to be caught. Szpilman managed to run down the stairs and get away as fast as possible. A little while later, a key turning point in the film began. The Polish Uprising began in August of 1944 and resulted in the last remaining Jews being executed. Szpilman is almost killed throughout this battle, but manages to stay alive. Once the Germans are mostly forced to lea ve the city, Szpilman is one of the few to still be living in the war-ruined city of Warsaw. Barely managing to stay alive, Szpilman attempts to find whatever food he can. As he is trying to open a can of pickles, a German captain, Wilm Hosenfeld, discovers Szpilman all alone. After a few short questions, Captain Hosenfeld asks Szpilman if what he does for a living. Szpilman responds that he was a pianist. To this, Captain Hosenfeld simply said, â€Å"A pianist. Come. Play.† Szpilman decides to play â€Å"Ballade in G-Minor, Op. 23† by Chopin. At the sound of this, Captain Hosenfeld felt touched enough to spare Szpilman’s life. This scene is one of the most impacting in the movie because it shows that even though two people may be at war, they can still see the goodness in each other. The filmmaker, Roman Polanski, is trying to show the Holocaust through the eyes of one man’s true story. Quite often Holocaust movies focus on the Jewish race as a whole, wh ich is fine, but it maybe not always the best way to represent the Holocaust. In looking at it from one person’s point of view, the audience is able to feel the emotions of the character and how stressful that time would have been. In the piano scene with the German captain, Polanski is trying to show that not all Germans are as evil as many people think. The stereotypical German of that day, and to some extent of the modern day, is one who is always yelling and putting other people down because of their race. This German Captain Hosenfeld gives the audience a side of a German war character that is, for some, not normal. In many Hollywood movies, Germans are always portrayed to be the bad guys. This is because, generally, many Americans of Jewish descent wield great power in high places and can thus get their views across easily. When Captain Hosenfeld asks Szpilman to play something on the piano, he is giving the Jew a chance to display his talents. Many people would have ex pected Szpilman to be shot instantly simply for the fact that he was Jewish, yet Captain Hosenfeld saw something in Szpilman that perhaps many others could never see. Once he began listening to the piano, Captain Hosenfeld was so captured by what he was hearing that he felt mercy for Szpilman and his situation. It could be that hearing the piano triggered something in Captain Hosenfeld’s memory. Maybe he had a happy memory of the piano as a child. The point is that Polanski is showing how

The Bane of Living in the Cities Essay Example for Free

The Bane of Living in the Cities Essay When we discuss about living in big cities or small towns, different people have different point of view. Both have their own advantages and disadvantages. From my personal opinion, big cities have more advantages as compared to small towns, which I quiet disagree with the topic. There are three points I would like to highlight here on why I said living in big cities brings more benefits. Firstly, big cities have far better quality education from lower to higher education. What I am trying to emphasize here is big cities can provide us with modern and adequate academic environment which I find it is very important as education is the key for success in the future career. Therefore, students in big cities can get several benefits from the modern education offered such as multimedia teaching, electronic library and also internet. see more:advantage and disadvantage of living in the city By contrast, those who are living in small towns cannot take the opportunity as much as in big cities because there are not enough modern facilities provided in small towns. Secondly, we can see that more and more people especially the young people migrate to big cities because they see many opportunities in employment. As we all know, most of the local and international companies are situated in big cities so there are many places that they can work as opposed to small towns. Consequently, they have bigger chances in achieving their dreamed career and also pursue in what they like. In addition to this, most of the jobs offered in big cities have bigger salaries so that is why it is one of the attractions for the young people to live in big cities. Last but not least, people live in big cities can enjoy several entertainments and closer to better services like hospitals. To illustrate, in big cities there are many shopping centers, entertainment parks and also many of the international events are held here. We can enjoy our quality time with our family in the entertainment parks but not for those who live in small towns because there is no such thing there. Furthermore, hospitals are nearer to you in big cities and the services offered are better compared to hospitals in small towns as they are fully equipped with modern equipments and also most of the specialists work there, It is true that despite these benefits of living in big cities, there are certain disadvantages to it. However, when compared both, I tend to see the advantages outweigh the disadvantages so that is why I am more on living in big cities. In a nutshell, no matter where we live it depends on an individual to make the decision to continue living your life.

Identify And Explain The Stages Of Grief Experienced By The Dying. Essa

1: Shock-Denial: This stage is when the patient first hears about his/her illness, and this is where the patient is saying "no, not me" and "it can't be me". During this time they will also ask a numerous amount that "is the results wrong", or "could you check my results again please". 2: Rage/Anger: There are two things to remember when dealing with this stage, which is that; anger is never personal, its more generalised. This means that no matter what, the patient never blames the people around them, but prefers to blame her/himself, or sometimes the whole world. Another part of the Rage/Anger stage is the "Why me" mini stage. This constitutes the patient to ask the people around him/her, but more prominently God. This behavior leads up to the bargaining stage. 3: Bargaining: This stage is when the patient has accepted his/her fate temporarily. This is so as it may seem that s/he is under control so s/he can bargain, more easily sway the recipient. The most usual case of bargaining is with God, for example "If you let me live one more day, ill become a good Christian and go to church everyday". These patients never really do what they promised. They maybe try to bargain with a member of the hospital staff, as well. This is not the final peace, only a temporary truce. 4: Depression: - Reactive This mini-stage is when the patient starts to feel despair because s/he can't hold or see in some cases their kids, or s...

Econ-545 Week 6 Quiz

| 1. | Question: | (TCO F) The size of the labor force in a community is 1,000, and 850 of these folks are gainfully employed. In this community, 50 people over the age of 16 do not have a job and are not looking for work. In addition, 80 people in the community are under the age of 16. The unemployment rate is ______. | | | Student Answer:|   | Unemployment rate=unemployed/labor force*100 150/1000*100=15% 1000-850=150 (number of people unemployed) then divided by total labor force divided by 100|   | Instructor Explanation:| The unemployment rate is calculated by dividing the number of unemployed by the labor force. The labor force is calculated by subtracting three things from the population (# under 16, # of institutionalized adults, and # not looking for work). In this example,  you are given the size of the labor force (1,000), and you are also told that 850 are employed. Therefore, 150 are unemployed, and the  unemployment rate is simply 150/1,000 or 15%. | | | | Points Received:| 15 of 15| | Comments:| | | | | | | 2. | Question: | (TCO F) Suppose  nominal GDP  in 2005 was $15 trillion, and in 2006 it was $16 trillion. The general price index in 2005 was 100, and in 2006 it was 103.Between 2005 and 2006,  real GDP  rose by what percent? | | | Student Answer:|   | Nominal GDP and REAL GDP must be equal in the base year. 2005 15tr, price index = 100 since nominal and real GDP must be equal in the base year 15tr/1. 03=16. 56tr(16. 56-16. 00)/16. 00=4% or 3. 5%|   | Instructor Explanation:| You need to make use of the inflation formula for the GDP deflator here and compare results between the two years. For 2005: 100 = [$15 T / Real GDP] x 100 So, Real GDP must equal $15 T. You could also recognize that Real GDP and nominal GDP are the same in the base year. For 2006: 103 = [$16 T / Real GDP] x 100 1. 03 = [$16 T / Real GDP] Real GDP = $16 T / 1. 03 So, Real GDP must equal $15. 534 T. The percentage increase in Real GDP will then be [(15. 53 4 – 15) / 15] x 100 = (0. 534 / 15) x 100 = 3. 56%  Therefore Real GDP increases by 3. 56% between 2005 and 2006. | | | | Points Received:| 19 of 20| | Comments:| | | | | | | 3. | Question: | (TCO F) The consumer price index was 198. 3 in January of 2006, and it was 202. 4 in January of 2007. Therefore, the rate of inflation in 2006 was about ______. | | | Student Answer:|   | 202. -198. 3=4. 1 4. 1/198. 3=. 02067 or 2. 07%|   | Instructor Explanation:| The rate of inflation is the rate of change of the inflation indicator, or more specifically: [(New Price Index – Old Price Index) / (Old Price Index)] x 100 In this case this equals, [(202. 4 – 198. 3) / 198. 3] x 100 = (4. 1 / 198. 3) x 100 = 2. 07% or approximately 2%. | | | | Points Received:| 15 of 15| | Comments:| | | | | | | 4. | Question: | (TCO E) (10 points) As the U. S. dollar appreciates in value relative to the Japanese Yen, what happens to the price of U. S. goods in Japan? What happens to the price of Japanese goods in the U. S.? (10 points) Why would a country (for example China) choose to keep their currency relatively pegged to the U. S. dollar? If the U. S. dollar were to appreciate considerably against most currencies, what would be the effect on Chinese exports to countries other than the U. S.? | | | Student Answer:|   | the price of goods in Japan start going up. the price Japanese goods in US start going down. China keeps its currency pegged in order to sell their goods for a cheaper price in the US and to make the US market dependent on their product. If dollar appreciate it will drag China's currency with it,in other words reducing China' export. |   | Instructor Explanation:| When a country's currency appreciates, it becomes more valuable versus the other currency we're comparing against. So, in this case, it would take fewer dollars  to purchase the same amount of Japanese Yen, U. S. goods become more expensive to Japanese buyers, and Japanese goods be come cheaper to U. S. buyers. A country such as China might choose to peg their currency to the U. S. dollar to keep prices stable for a key  trading partner like the U.S. If the U. S. dollar would appreciate considerably against most  currencies, this would not affect China trade with the U. S. , but  Chinese goods would become more expensive to their other trading partners, and could cause Chinese exports to these other markets to decrease. | | | | Points Received:| 17 of 20| | Comments:| | | | | | | 5. | Question: | (TCO E) Suppose the Indian rupee price of one  British pound is 54. 392 rupees for each pound. A hotel room in London costs 120 pounds, while a similar hotel room in New Delhi costs 6,500 Indian rupees. In which city is the hotel room cheaper, and by how much? | | | Student Answer:|   | London hotel room 120 pound or 6527 rupee (120*54. 392) India hotel room 119. 50 pounds (6500/54. 392) or 6500 rupee the hotel room is cheaper in India for . 50 cent in pound or 27 rupees|   | Instructor Explanation:| Since the exchange rate is 1  pound = 54. 392 Indian rupees, we can convert the price of the hotel room in London to Indian rupees and then be able to compare. 120 pounds = rupees(120 x 54. 392) = 6,527 rupees.Since the hotel room in New Delhi  costs 6,500 rupees, it must be that the hotel room costs 27 rupees  more in London than in New Delhi. | | | | Points Received:| 15 of 15| | Comments:| | | | | | | 6. What would be feasible terms of trade between Egypt and Greece? | | | Student Answer:|   | terms of trade between 2 countries lie somewhere between the opportunity costs in the 2 countries. in this case Egypt 1 shirt= 2 pants and in Greece case 1 shirt=4 pants, so the only feasible term of trade between the 2 countries would be anywhere in between these limits anything between 2 and 4 shirts and pants would work. t any terms of trade higher or lower than 2 or 4 pants per shirt , one of the countries would be able to do better than the terms of trade simply by trading off resources in their own country. |   | Instructor Explanation:| Feasible terms of trade between 2 countries lie somewhere between the opportunity costs in the 2 countries. In this case, in Egypt —   1 Shirt = 2 Pants, and in Greece — 1 Shirt = 4 Pants. So,  the only feasible terms of trade between the 2 countries would be anywhere in between these limitsà ‚  Ã¢â‚¬â€ anything between 2 and 4 Pants per Shirts would work.At any terms of trade higher or lower than  2 to 4 Pants per Shirts, one of the countries would be able to do better than the terms of trade simply by trading off resources in their own country. | | | | Points Received:| 20 of 20| | Comments:| | | | | | | 7. | Question: | (TCO F) The Republic of Republic produces two goods/services, fish (F) and chips (C). The Long Campaign against Social Security

Bush has proposed allowing workers to invest some of their federal retirement taxes themselves to earn a better rate of return — a partial privatization of the 65-year-old retirement system. For such a long time the Social Security have been viewed by most conservative as a way in which the power of the government expands. The Social Security is owned by the government. It is an insurance program that runs for more than 69 years and is designed as something that compulsory collect from the public as a payroll tax.The benefits that can be derived from the insurance program are disability, retirement and survivor benefits.   The problem with the Social Security arises on 1983 when the payroll tax that a person pays sometimes exceeds the benefits that the Social Security offers. In order to compensate with such a â€Å"hoax† as people started to call it, the Social Security invested the money in the Treasury Security that are deposited as a trust fund under the Social Sec urity. Most people and politicians believe that the Trust fund does not exist anymore. Some say that it should have been invested into a private sector so people would know how the government spent the money.Since those who would benefit from the Social Security comprise a large number of voters, politicians have been extra careful when dealing with policy changes that would affect the Social Security. Since it was projected that the Social Security would face bankruptcy on the near future there have been several proposals regarding the way in which it could be run to yield more benefits in the future.Reagan in his early campaign suggested that the Social Security can be privatized. According to him, the privatization could be done by an introduction of voluntary features that would give the citizen a capability to act in accordance to their will. He further stated that he is against forcing any citizen into joining a compulsory public program regardless of the need.Nonetheless, when Regan have been a president he did not address the issue on privatization of Social Security and instead work on increasing taxes and the age of retirement to answer the possible problem in the Social Security. Regan have influenced the campaign on privatization but proved that radical changes needs long preparation and evaluation.President Bush proposed to partial privatized the Social Security in order to solve the upcoming bankruptcy.   Bush aims to give deliver the benefits of the Senior Citizens or the people who have invested in the Social Security while at the same time helping the younger generation to build their wealth through the system.Bush proposes the possibility of an individual and voluntary retirement account. President Bush’s proposal was known as progressive indexing which suggest maintaining the benefits for low income earners while slowly cutting down the benefits that high income earners receive.Works CitedThomma, Steven. Free Essays on Ludwig Beethoven

The rise of Ludwig van Beethoven into the rank of history's greatest composers was paralleled by and in some ways a consequence of his own personal tragedy and despair (Internetpg. 1). Beethoven's family was of the Flemish origin. His mother, Maria Magdalena, died after a long illness when Beethoven was only 17. He was not the only child in this family though. He had 2 brothers and 1 sister, both to which were disorganized and unruly. His family was always in constant need of funds. (The World1963) Beethoven showed his extraordinary musical talent at an early age. His father hoped he could induce his child's development and make him more like Mozart, and possibly bring in some money for the family which was desperately in need. (The World-1963) As a child, Beethoven never was too interested in music even though he had the talents. Both his father and grandfather were experienced musicians and wanted him to be one also. At the age of four, Beethoven's father began to teach him the violin and piano, but wasn't successful in doing so because of his addiction to alcohol. His training was soon taken over by his father's friend, Pfeiffer, but also, because of alcoholism, his lessons were just as irregular as before. Later, his grandfather's friend taught him until he resigned in 1781 and Beethoven's tuition was taken over by Van der Eeden's successor, Christian Neefe. This man was not only a good teacher, but also a friend. (The World-1963; Sally Patton-pg.73) Beethoven's first composition was published in 1783. Then, in 1784 he attained his first independent position of a court organist and violinist, and in 1787 he was sent to Vienna to study. Here, he had the opportunity to play for Mozart who liked the work of Beethoven and told his friends "Watch that young man." (Sally Patton-pg.73). Beethoven studied with a man by the name of Joseph Haydn, but it didn't work for very long because they couldn't get along. He began to study... How to Align Content Marketing and Social Media in 9 Steps

How to Align Content Marketing and Social Media in 9 Steps Ask a business owner with a strong online presence and they’ll tell you- content marketing is one of the quickest, most successful ways to increase organic traffic. With multiple team members working on various initiatives, big picture metrics can easily be forgotten or pushed aside. Keep your team focused on the end goal- whether that’s signups or conversions or something else- and make sure that everyone is working towards the same KPIs. Unsure where to start? Focus on overall site traffic (sessions or pageviews) from social platforms and the number of  conversions through call-to-actions within blog content. To stay on track in these meetings, follow these steps. Both teams should come prepared with wins, losses and overall metrics. Focus both on the metrics that relate to respective platforms (sessions, engagement, shares) as well as the long term goal metrics (sign-ups, conversions, sales). In the meeting, brainstorm on how both teams can better align goals, whether that means the social media team re-shares successful content multiple times, or content creates more pieces covering topics that Facebook users are eating up. Keep the conversation going throughout the month by sending a weekly round-up email with one big win and one big loss every Friday. Determining how metrics can be shared effectively and solutions can be gleaned and applied from them will help both teams succeed in the long run. If your content marketing and social media teams are one in the same, it’s still important to set aside time to align thinking and compare successes between platforms. Once you’ve begun to uncover trends and insights between platforms and on your blog, it’s time to put this data to work. Hone in on what’s working (and, of course, what’s not) and look for new audiences you can tap into. Once you’ve begun to uncover trends and insights between platforms and on your blog, it’s time...For example, social media can target specific hashtags, post content in different Facebook or LinkedIn groups, or work with other influencers or businesses to start new social swaps. Step 1: To interact with new groups on Facebook, search for a particular keyword, filter for groups, join the group, and interact with other users. Step 2: On LinkedIn, the sidebar on the left-hand side of your homepage will display different relevant hashtags and new groups to explore. Use both of these tools to promote relevant content to new audiences. Step 3: On Twitter, add relevant, popular hashtags, like G2 Crowd did below to your tweets to increase engagement in new audiences. In turn, the blog can cover different topics that work specifically on Facebook or produce content in different formats like video, listicle, or slideshow depending on how they perform on new platforms. When targeting new audiences, social media and content marketing teams should ensure that they don’t neglect their core audience in pursuit of expanding exposure to new niches or audience segments. 4. Creatively Market Content With Graphics or Clips on Social Media One common content marketing tactic is to create e-books to thoroughly explain a topic, secure leads, or introduce a new product. These are longer form guides that can be key to increasing conversion, but they also take a lot of effort and time to produce, so it’s important to ensure that social is aligned before the work begins. Creating a series of graphics made specific for social media platforms can be a great way to promote an e-book or tease it’s release before it’s widely circulated. For example, if an upcoming e-book lists a number of steps for improving your business’s online security, you could design a colorful graphic for each step with a brief description. The release of these graphics daily will pique the interest of social media followers to download the e-book and read the rest of the steps. If there are no steps to list, excellent pull quotes from the e-book can be equally effective. With a tool such as Canva, you can access and edit great free designs in a couple of minutes, as I did below. Step 1: To get started, sign up for Canva and create your first design. Step 2:   Then select a layout and edit the text, background, and colors. Step 3: Once your edits are complete, you’ll have a beautiful graphic to market your e-book. This tactic can be employed for YouTube or embedded videos as well by cutting a particularly good clip or a few clips from the video and releasing them on social media, and directing followers to a link if they’d like to watch the full video. On Facebook, this approach will yield many more views  than a typical post because Facebook videos results in 135% more organic reach than photos, on average. For best results, the content creator and social media team should coordinate on which steps, quotes, or clips would be best received by a social audience. With ’s scheduling feature, you can determine and schedule posts at the best time for your audience. 5. Integrate Popular Social Media Elements Into Blog Posts One of the best aspects of online blogs, as opposed to traditional media, is the room for innovation and creativity in communicating information non-traditionally. For example, as emojis have gained widespread use in wordlessly communicating emotions through text messaging and social media, they have also gained use in blogs to spice up content. To stay ahead of the curve and keep up with new trends, social media teams should communicate to content marketers what social audiences respond well to and what can be implemented on blogs to keep content relevant and interesting. To stay ahead of the curve and keep up with new trends, social media teams should communicate to...Because of the speed and frequency of communication on social media, new trends can be tried and proven much more effectively here than on your blog. A few different elements from social media that can be added to blogs could be videos, gifs, image slideshows, and memes, depending on how they’re received on social media. A great use of gifs can be found on ’s The Skimmer’s Guide to , which very creatively utilizes gifs throughout to keep the reader engaged. Of course, when applying any of these elements, content marketing teams should use discretion. For a more serious topic or professional guide, a meme or gif may not be appropriate. Likewise, a video or image slideshow could be distracting from core text or break the attention of the reader. By testing engagement on both social media and in blog content with new elements, teams can safely innovate and stay ahead of the communication curve. Recommended Reading: The Best Content Calendar Template to Get Organized All Year 6. Use Blog Content for Facebook Live Material You can’t get it right every single time. One of the unfortunate facts of creating content is that many of the posts you create may go unseen. But consider this- a post that didn’t quite work in one form could be repurposed and utilized in a whole different way. For example, a blog post that didn’t quite catch on in written form could be turned into a video script and presented to a Facebook or Instagram Live audience. Another example could be taking steps from a blog post, creating graphics from it, and uploading them as a slideshow on Instagram to be flipped through. Step 1: To get started, select the right blog post that would be interesting to your Facebook audience. Step 2: Choose parts of the post that could be succinctly summarized in a 15-minute Facebook Live. Look for clear steps that are actionable and easy to describe. Once found, write a script with an introduction, the subjects you’d like to cover, and a conclusion. Step 3: Promote the Facebook Live on different social media accounts. Step 4: To launch the Facebook Live, go to your Facebook page and click ‘Live’ in the action panel. Though you can’t make every single post work, it’s a good idea to narrow in on blog posts that you’d like to give a little more â€Å"juice† to. Task social media teams to come up with ideas that could work based on existing content and work from there. If you want to do a Facebook Live, consider whether you have relevant content you can reference in the chat or edit to make a scrip. Don’t look at low clicks as a failure- look at it as an opportunity to innovate and improve. Recommended Reading: 49 Facebook Marketing Tips to Get Better Results Right Now 7. Launch a Cross-Promotional Content Series Across Channels One great way to increase engagement across all channels and create a cohesive content marketing experience is to launch a series that can work across many platforms. For example, a new content vertical could launch in conjunction with a YouTube series that’s also cut down shorter snippets for Facebook. Say your goal is to gain YouTube subscribers for a new account- you could plan a content series that embeds a new YouTube video in every post, enticing readers to click through and (hopefully) subscribe. Neil Patel, an expert on digital marketing,   promotes across multiple channels including YouTube, e-books, blog posts, and social media, which has made his name omnipresent in the marketing space. If you’re building a presence on YouTube and have a popular blog, try the following tactic that Patel utilized. Step 1: After creating a couple videos for YouTube, write a comprehensive blog post on a complementary topic. For example, Neil wrote a blog post explaining that everything he has taught about SEO was wrong: Step 2: Then,   embed the YouTube video, which is a natural next step in the blog post’s call-to-action into the near end of the blog post. This will encourage readers to watch the video, increasing your viewership, and perhaps then watch the next video in sequence or even, subscribe to your channel! To promote an e-book or report, a social media team could release a series of videos on Facebook or Twitter explaining aspects of the e-book or report’s findings with attached links to the piece of content itself. In addition, selections from the content could be published on LinkedIn either under the brand or executives’ profiles with links to the content included. Recommended Reading: How to Promote Your Blog With 107 Content Promotion Tactics 8. Use Top Writers for Twitter Chats, Reddit AMAs, and Quora Twitter chats (public conversations within a unique hashtag) are excellent ways to interact with other companies in your space, gain followers, and assert your brand as a thought leader on a specific subject. Likewise, a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything), where executives answer common questions about a topic or the company itself, is an excellent tactic to increase engagement and publicity in a niche community. For upcoming chats and AMAs, social media teams should coordinate with writers or company executives to ensure they’re on hand when questions begin to roll in and to provide comprehensive responses that wow participants. Tap into your blog to come up with new topics to cover and angles to take. Quora, a platform where users ask and answer questions, is another place where social media and content marketers should coordinate engagement. For the sake of optics on Quora, it can be better if individuals at a company create an account and answer questions, rather than brands. The writers who handle the blog can be excellent resources to answer questions and provide invaluable insight. Step 1: After signing up for a Quora account, a writer simply must answer a few questions in their niche before Quora and other users begin asking them for other answers. Once in your account, click Answer to find the right question. Step 2: Write your answer and click submit. Try different answer formats like steps and lists, adding useful images, and making your responses long and comprehensive to receive recognition and upvotes. 9. Originate New Content Ideas From Social Media Followers and Polls Social media followers who regularly interact with content are often a brand’s most engaged audience with untapped feedback to provide. To come up with creative new ideas for content creation, poll your social audiences with direct questions about topics they’d like covered or content mediums they like most. Step 1: To poll followers on Twitter, add your question then click Add poll. Step 2: Add poll answer options and click Tweet. Integrating more polls and surveys is a great way to plan future content and gather meaningful feedback from those who are more dedicated to your brand.

Health Care Delivery in the US Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words

Health Care Delivery in the US - Essay Example Think of a machine whose parts are working together and running smoothly and efficiently. This is how health care delivery in the United States should be. Ludwig von Bertalanffy's Systems Theory shows there is more than just one part involved in the process. It takes all the parts involved to make the machine work properly. Getting these parts to fit, however, can be a challenge. Unfortunately, the uninsured does not always have access to good quality medical care, and/or services. Lack of education, when it comes to paperwork, multiple physicians, and understanding exactly what the disease and its treatment process becomes extremely confusing leading to errors and unneeded care. health care has had to go through many tests before being incorporated in the industry. Testing and proving the benefits of such programs, such as HomeMed or EHR, depends entirely on the ones doing the testing. If it is perceived by health consumers to provide benefits and has real time advantages, it will be accepted, if not it will be rejected. The incorporation of technology, and the acceptance of the internet, has seen many organizations implementing telemedicine. This will lead to more efficient care and access to remote areas.Conducting cardio-pulmonary resuscitation on a dummy leaves a lot to the imagination. The true sense of performing this life saving technique is lost. Roger's Diffusion of Innovation theory deals with the idea of accepting a new way of doing things. In today's health care setting, with many new

Contemporary Issue In Marketing Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words

Contemporary Issue In Marketing - Essay Example This report mainly focuses on relationship marketing, its importance in the modern business scenario and connection of relationship with technological innovation and discussion regarding the Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC). Lastly, a conclusion and recommendation is made regarding the close connectivity between these three aspects. Relational marketing In the last few decades, the marketing theories have experienced a colossal shift in both theories and practices of marketing. Relationship marketing is a developing network paradigm that recognises that global competition occurs between networks of organizations. In the context of relationship marketing, Morgan and Hunt (1994) have suggested the Commitment and Trust Theory that involves all types of relational exchanges. The researchers have argued that the central concept of relationship marketing rotates around those that distinguish an effective and productive relational exchange from those that are ineffective and unprodu ctive. There are several factors that contribute towards the success or failure of relationship marketing effort. These scholars have stressed on trust and commitment that makes significant contribution. They theorised that relationship trust and commitment is the key to successful relationship marketing. These two aspects help the marketer in preserving relationship by cooperating with the partners, resisting their attraction towards short-term benefits in the hope to reap long-term ones by staying with the existing partners and looking at high-risk actions as prudent. Figure 1 (Source: Morgan and Hunt, 1994) Another research scholar, Reichheld and Sasser (1990), have stressed on the fact that there are very few companies who have succeeded in providing the service commitment made by them to the customers. For service companies, scrap heap signifies customers who are not going to come back. If the companies start measuring this scrap heap, they will realise that this scarp cost the m heavily and ardent steps are needed to be taken in order to reduce the same. This will make them strive for â€Å"zero defects† in their quality movement and guiding light for making the organization gain profitability and achieve it soon. They have suggested that customer defection leads to a powerful impact on the bottom line. The company’s market share, profit, unit cost and many other factors related to competitive advantage are expected to be impacted positively. This strengthening and lengthening of relationship is expected to increase profit by 100 percent, by 5 percent retention of the existing customers. Technology development Computing technology is an omnipresent aspect that encompasses both personal lives of an individual and organizational framework. In order to understand the outcomes, resulting from technology acceptance, several theoretical models has been proposed such as, technology acceptance model (TAM) and innovation diffusion theory. The TAM is hugely recognised as robust but with parsimonious conceptualization. Based on the theory of reasoned action, it has been argued by TAM that the behaviour of IT acceptance can be explained, based on the belief of the individual, regarding the ease of use and usefulness of IT. On the other hand, the innovation diffus

Social Security Programs Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words

Social Security Programs - Essay Example President Roosevelt served the United States army during World War II (Ssa.gov, n.d.). It was before 1930’s that supporting the elder people was a federal concern and not of the family (Ssa.gov, n.d.). It was on January 17, 1935 President Roosevelt sent a message to congress asking for the implementation of social security legislation (Ssa.gov, n.d.). It was because of this man’s effort and move that the bill was passed. On august 15, 1935 he signed the social security act into making it a part of law (Ssa.gov, n.d.). The act was the solution for all the old age people. It was a solution for a old-age pension. It was supported from the taxes and employer’s payroll rather than from the government funds. The act not only provided benefit to the old people but it also helped the children (Ssa.gov, n.d.). Those people who are blind and provide family health programs. As a result of these all benefits, the act bought some challenges to the administration (Ssa.gov, n.d.). The act also encouraged the citizens to get them registered. As the policies and the government is changing who just want to get benefit. The government doesn’t want to support its citizens and want to feed themselves (Goss, 2010). A recent survey which has been made to see how much benefit does people get from this act, it was nil. People who were included in the surveys were the retired sector of the economy that was near to face poverty. They answered, this act never provided benefit to us and we are in a very bad situation. Things are not looking positive for the social security program. The future is negative and has many threats. The trust funds reserve will run out around 2030. The funds that were collected by the taxes and payrolls will end up and eventually do no good to the citizens. The act which was specially made to provide support to the deserving people is doing nothing for its citizens anymore. The reasons may include the demographic changes that are occurring all over the

Breaking Barriers to Healthcare with ICT

Breaking Barriers to Healthcare with ICT Abu Ayub Ansari Introduction Health is the fundamental right of every citizen of a country. ICT is an important facility to access to healthcare service in both urban and rural areas. ICT may defined as technological system of communication, dissemination, storage, formation and management of information (1). Use of ICT in developing countries like Bangladesh is increasing day by day. ICT basically based on computers, internet system, telecommunication and highly modified technology. ICT health service also known as Electronic health, which is consist of m health, telemedicine, telepaths and help to breaking the access barrier by education, communication, helpline, diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, tracking etc (2). Developing country like Bangladesh, MDG works to achieve Universal Health Coverage. Three MDG goals (goal-4, goal-5 and goal-6) basically take attention to health. Based on performance of ICT, developmental organization like- OECD, SIDA and DFID agreed that ICD initiates great policies in health programme to achieving MDG (3). A scientific study was performed of published and grey literature. Literature was searched through the databases of PubMed, Medline and other journals, over the period 2005–2015. Relevant web sites were also consulted, such as those of Local government, Bilateral organization and NGO involved in research or interventions in performance. 3. Analysis of some YouTube video about ICT, e-Health, m-Health related with health service. 4. Total 14 article work were gathered and reviewed and only 10 articles and 1 YouTube video were cited in this scientific writing. Finding and Discussion Rural residency is a barrier that hampered to access health service. ICT developed a very good network for rural communities. Such as Grammen Telecom provide collaboration with health specialist of Diabetic Association Bangladesh to provide health service. So now it is easy to take expert opinion for treatment (4). Despite of rural residency people easily access health service without interruption. So in community level people easily can receive intervention without going to the urban area with the help of ICT. High treatment cost is great burden in LMICs like Bangladesh. Many poor people cannot properly access health service high cost of treatment .In Bangladesh, 6 mobile operators make agreements to TRCL to provide healthcare service. Everyday more than 10 thousand call received by doctors of mobile company and give conservative treatment which is easy and cheap to access (5). So for conservative treatment, ICT make the basic treatment so cheap, so people of LMICs easily access the healthcare service according to their need. For language barrier people from rural communities faces some difficulties to receive treatment. They not properly express themselves to the service provider and service provider are unable to understand to them treatment regimen. Telemedine not provide only treatment also refer to tertiary centre or specialized care during emergency by using local language (6). So using local language patients also share their problem and received treatment. In rural communities for family binding and social tiers women not properly access health services during ante natal period by visit the physician. MAMA APONJON is a mobile massage service to give ante natal advice by dialling 16227. After delivery mother were also dont take proper care to his children due to illiteracy. this service also give information about breast feeding, weaning and immunization (7). So without go outside a mother can receive all necessary information during and after pregnancy easy and continent way. E-Health basically monitors epidemic and outbreak reach by a expert monitoring network. Monitoring team always monitor the geo- spatial area and connected with the surveillance centre. So people will early aware about epidemic and take precaution and appropriate management (8). So access to E- health many lives saves from epidemic outbreak of disease. Both rural and urban area privacy problem is one of the barriers to access health service. E- health maintains a to properly maintain privacy of the patient and ownership will not addressed (9). In religious country like Bangladesh, females can easily access health service by maintaining privacy. Parents were not always aware about child immunization and sometimes forget. ICT provide effective immunization system and reminds parents time to time for immunization (10). Illiterate parents can also access immunization for their children. Conclusion- Healthcare service of developing country improved day by day. After this development people were not properly access health service due to some social and environmental factor. ICT advances system of health service delivery so people can access health service by breaking the barrier. ICT maintain communication with rural communities and provide health information. Cost and process of service delivery is very cheap and convenient so people easily can access the health service. It has also provide emergency treatment by refer to tertiary centre and maintain privacy every sector for easy accessibility. ICT also monitor epidemic area and alert people during outbreak, so people can take appropriate action to save lives and live hood. Recommendation- Effective introduction and implementation of ICT in rural community especially women so they can easily access this service. Give more resource to ICT as well as strengthen of ICT system. Give more training and professional education to ICT monitoring team. Active engagement of student in primary level of education. Proper maintains of accountability and responsiveness of service provider of ICT. In Bangladesh 75% of people live in rural area and but only 25% doctor provide service in this area, which is also not properly cover entire community(11). So, Government, bilateral organization, NGO should work together to better monitoring, implementation and strengthen of ICT system and correlate with health system according to priority of people , so people easily can access the health service any time, every palace without financial hardship. The Effects of Nuclear Weapons Essay -- Nuclear Weapons Essays

The Effects of Nuclear Weapons The United States is the most powerful country in the World. They have the biggest army, navy, and airforce, but that is not why other countries fear them. The reason the United States is feared, is because of its nuclear capabilities. The United States has the power to blow up the entire World without even using half of their nuclear bombs. Having all of this nuclear power is good, because it prevents other countries from trying to go to war with the United States. The problem with these bombs is that in order to make sure they work, the United States has to test them. There is only one way to test a nuclear bomb, and that is by letting it off. When they test these bombs, it send radiation flying through the air, causing many innocent civilians to get severely sick, and even die. Not only do these bombs effect humans, but they also effect the wildlife. When these bombs are sent off in the ocean, they kill many fish, and also plant life. Some fish don't die and then are con taminated with the radiation For years the government has been testing Nuclear Weapons to make sure that they work, incase we ever have to use them. It is a good idea to make sure that our country is protected, but is it worth killing American citizens in the process. The idea for a Nuclear Bomb came into the picture, during World War II. The code name for the project to create it was the Manhattan Project. It was named for the Manhattan Engineer District of the US Army Corps of Engineers, because much of the early research was done in New York City. In 1942 General Leslie Groves was chosen to lead the project, and he immediately purchased a site at Oak Ridge, Tennessee for facilities to separate the necessary ur... ...Nagasaki, in order to end WW II, and to save American lives at the same time. The question remains, just how many American live were saved, if you add up all of the people that died from the nuclear testing that followed after the war? Works Cited: 1. Manhattan Project. Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle in Indonesian School at a Glance Essay

CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION A. Abstract We are astronauts—all of us. We ride a spaceship called Earth on its endless journey around the sun. This ship of ours is blessed with life-support systems so ingenious that they are self-renewing, so massive that they can supply the needs of billions. Unfortunately for centuries we have taken them for granted, considering their capacity limitless. At last we have begun to monitor the systems, and the findings are deeply disturbing. Scientists and government officials of entire world countries agree that we are in trouble. Unless we stop abusing our vital life-support systems, they will fail. We must maintain them, or pay the penalty. The penalty is death. Air, water, and land—those are the systems. On land, nature moves full circle. Living things are nourished there, grow old and die, then decompose to enrich the land again. A thin envelope of air surrounds the planet. We use its oxygen, exhaling carbon dioxide, which vegetation absorbs. Plants use the carbon for growth by the marvelous process called photosynthesis, and return oxygen to the atmosphere. Thus nature’s delicate balance is maintained. Most states today are ill equipped to monitor the thousands of air-pollution sources within their borders and because corrective measures can be tremendously expensive, years may pass before a factory stops spouting black smoke. Virtually every scientist we listened to—and they numbered in the dozens—emphasized that mankind must control population growth. They forecast widespread famine if population soars unchecked. Plagues, too—for in the metropolitan sprawl of the future there will no longer be sparsely settled buffer zones around cities to curb epidemics. What are the priorities? Most ecologists answered something like this: clean up the most threatened areas first. Work to unsnarl the fragmented, overlapping responsibility on national, state, and local levels. Focus research on finding environmental answers—there is so much yet to be learned. Be realistic about immediate goals. At least for now, settle for making a river clean enough to serve its particular purpose. Later, it can be made to be clean enough to drink. Get practical, enforceable pollution laws passed—standardized ones that will apply to both sides of a river, for instance, when it flows between two states. Before using a new chemical, explore for side effects, and when a new product is developed, plan for its ultimate disposal. Work toward recycling; one factory’s industrial waste can be another plan’s raw material, and make each individual aware of the problems—same like his role in solving them. This is the main problem among us who are living over this earth, how to control the production flow of goods and reutilize it well after it has been out of its usefulness period, how we could be innovative and creative in making the best use of our own belongings, unravel our industry wastes by processing it well, recycling it to be more useful good, and the most important that is inuring ourselves with reverting process to the natural resources and lifestyles. B. SMA Negeri 1 Purworejo’s Project From the abstraction given above, we can deduce that the conservation on natural ecology and surroundings is very eminent to keep the environment’s balance safe. It is all above that influences SMA Negeri 1 Purworejo to try developing high-ranking eco-school environment. The school management party has deemed for the better school worthy-life by arranging a pledge educative projects thru finalizing annual plan of eco-school improvement which is based on green living principles. From the middle of 2004, SMA Negeri 1 Purworejo has formulated some strategic programs that are able to give lots of advantages for the school’s citizens’ lives. CHAPTER 2 POINT OF VIEW A. General Decisive Idea of 3R 1. Reduce Reduce is a behavior or an action of the costumers that is able to alleviate the production of wastes, such as the usage of biodegradable bag as the substitute of non-biodegradable plastic bag and maximizing the best use of moor-land. 2. Reuse Reuse is utilizing the waste directly and advancing it without any recycling process. The reuse process can be efficiently applied well not only on the organic wastes recycling only, but also on the nonorganic wastes. The application of reusing process, for example: a. The residual waste of food producing can be advantaged as the food for animal. b. The former tires can be used again and processed to be other unique utensils and various shape of furniture. c. The residual product of furniture constructing process is able to be benefitted as useful handicrafts, such as little bag, sandals, tissue-pot, etc. 3. Recycle Recycle is processing and reusing materials that would otherwise be thrown away. Materials ranging from precious metals to broken glass, from old newspapers to plastic spoons, can be recycled. The recycling process reclaims the original material and uses it in new products. In general, using recycled materials to make new products costs less and requires less energy than using new materials. Recycling can also reduce pollution, either by reducing the demand for high-pollution alternatives or by minimizing the amount of pollution produced during the manufacturing process. It decreases the amount of land needed for trash dumps by reducing the volume of discarded waste. Recycling can be done internally (within a company) or externally (after a product is sold and used). In the paper industry, for example, internal recycling occurs when leftover stock and trimmings are salvaged to help make more new product. Since the recovered material never left the manufacturing plant, the final product is said to contain pre-consumer waste.
